This isn’t me. I was going to add an author photograph but a) my cat is far more beautiful and b) let her cool and assessing stare inspire us all to greater efforts.
As for me… I am a writer from Manchester UK with a full-time job, a husband, two kids and a cat with very high standards (for writing and everything else. See photo). The aim of this website is to serve as an introduction to my writing and anything else I might decide to blog about.
I write all sorts of things: mostly short fiction, but also non-fiction articles, academic papers and some attempts at poetry. My academic monograph The Nature of the Beast: Transformations of the Werewolf from the 1970s to the Twenty-First Century has been published by University of Wales Press. Intrigued? Check out my publications page.
One more thing – my website/blog’s weird, rather pretentious name is a play on the words ‘monster’ and ‘demonstrating.’ ‘Monster’ probably derives from the Latin, monstrare, meaning ‘to demonstrate.’ Monsters are there to be looked at, their monstrousness revealed in the flesh. Or is it? Do anyone of us know what’s lurking beneath the skin? No wonder I find monsters an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Join me in having a look at them.
